Palm Pre review is up on engadget. Device looks promising, lets see what apple releases on monday

Very impressive device from Palm.

It's amazing to see where we have come in two years since the iPhone came out. All of a sudden because of the iphone, capacitive screens, proximity sensors, accelerometers are all a given in a smart phone.

If the iPhone had never happened, what crappy phone would I be using today? I definitely wouldn't have all the great options I do.

New Cooper Square Hotel opens in my old New York backyard

The neighbors aren't too happy with the mezzanine bar & terrace....there's an elderly lady that hangs her dirty laundry on a clothes line and blows a whistle at people on the terrace....NYC charm!

While I lived on 6th St and 3rd Ave in New York, I saw many apartment buildings come down and make way for the new Cooper Square Hotel. The back window to my apartment had a perfect view of the construction.

It took years for the project to complete, and the hotel opened just months after I left New York.

One woman who lived in an apartment building on the hotel site refused to move, and they had to build around her.

The other neighbors were complaining loudly about the bars that would basically be in their backyards.

Now it's open, and apparently people aren't too happy about it.

Blowing whistles at people, I love it :)

Use the new Logitech Adapter for Playstation to control your Playstation 3 with your Harmony remote, including on/off abilities

I *love* my Harmony remote. I think it's one of the smartest consumer devices to come out outside of Apple. Especially when you have an AV receiver and many components, it's an essential tool. It switches all your components perfectly with a single touch.

Since getting this remote for my parents, i get ZERO tech support calls about their TVs.

But the one flaw was it couldn't control a PS3 since the Playstation uses bluetooth only. If you get an IR receiver for the PS3, it sorta works, except on/off

Until now. This adapter takes the signal from your remote and converts it to a bluetooth signal to the PS3. Setup was a snap and it works perfectly.

Now for the crazy part. When I control my PS3, a signal goes from my Harmony remote to the Logitech Wireless Extender, over RF. The signal then goes from that extender to this PS3 adapter over IR. And then goes from this adapter to the PS3 over BT.

All that, just to pause the movie I'm watching :)

We're sorry, but something went wrong.

We've been notified about this issue and we'll take a look at it shortly.

How to Hack Together a Twitter Client using Net News Wire on a Mac - Guy Kawasaki

you can use Posterous instead which enables you to tweet multiple pictures, audio, and video. (Disclosure: I am an investor in Posterous.)

Since I got into Twitter, I've been fascinated by how there are so many desktop twitter clients being developed.

In the year 2009, it seems like making everything web based is the way to go. I've never really agreed with this, but that's what everyone is doing.

Except twitter. Somewhere, someone realized that twitter was better as an app on the desktop. Which is funny. Because if Adobe can try to put photoshop on the web, why can't there be amazing twitter clients on the web?

But i'm not complaining. A native app (Tweetie) does give a better experience.

At one point, I was using RSS feeds to read my twitter stream. Not anymore, but it's an interesting way to go...
